John A. Stansfield [sic], who resides in Shelby county near Jollity, died at his late residence after a lingering illness of some six months, aged 67 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was born in Martin County Indiana and from there moved to Kentucky, with his parents when he was four years old. They returned to Indiana in 1861. On the 9th day of August 1862 he enlisted in the army and was discharged in 1865. He leaves a beloved wife, Elizabeth, and two sons, Floyd and Hannibal, and one daughter Edna. The funeral will be at Second Mt. Pleasant church Friday morning at 11 o’clock.
