OBITUARY.

Last Friday morning at 7 o’clock, Margaret Spencer died.

Margaret Turner was born in Penn., Nov 9, 1800, and was reared by kind Christian parents, uniting with the Disciples of Christ at the age of 18 years, and being an earnest and consistent follower of Christ until the day of her death. She was married to Parker Spencer in 1839 and after a few years emigrated to Johnson Co., living on a farm southeast of Rocklane. Mrs. Spencer has been an invalid for many years past. Nothing wins love like a pure woman’s character, and there are those who can testify to her influence over them because they know of her real worth and could see through the crystal of her soul and find no cloud of self-seeking or untruth there, nothing but charity for all. If she could find nothing to praise, she always refrained from criticism. Some of her last acts showed that her whole life had been consecrated to others.

The funeral took place at the Rocklane M. E. church, Sunday, conducted by Rev. Halley, of Acton. Burial in the M. E. cemetery.
