Catherine J. Spahr Catherine J. Spahr, 90, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She was a resident of Seymour. She was born May 26, 1910, in Edinburgh. Her parents were David and Margaret (Richardson) Chandler. She married August J. ÒGusÓ Spahr on Aug. 11, 1927. He preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1965. Survivors include two sons, Chester L. Spahr of Seymour and Francis "Gene" Spahr of Whiteland; one daughter, Gloria Patterson of Lafayette; two sisters, Dorothy Lain of Columbus and Doris Rice of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Ann Spahr; and five brothers, Jack, Merrill, Otto, Donald and Homer Chandler. She retired as a sales clerk from G.C. Murphy Co. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Seymour and Professional Business Women's Organization. The Rev. D.G. Morris will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Memorial contributions may be made to Hoosier Christian Village or the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Retired G.C. Murphy clerk Catherine J. Spahr Seymour SEYMOUR -- Catherine J. Spahr, 90, of Seymour died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She had been in failing health several years. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Business and Professional Women, she was retired from G. C. Murphy where she was a sales clerk. Funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Voss & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. D. G. Morris officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. t oday and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday. Graveside service and burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery at Franklin. Memorials may be made to Hoosier Christian Village or the Alzheimer’s Association. Mrs. Spahr was born in Edinburgh May 26, 1910, the daughter of David and Margaret Richardson Chandler. She married August J. "Gus" Spahr Aug. 11, 1927, at Franklin. He died Jan. 14, 1965. Surviving are children, Chester L. Spahr of Seymour, Francis "Gene" Spahr of Whiteland and Gloria Patterson of Lafayette; grandchildren, Anthony, Tracy D., Teresa L., Gregory and Tom Spahr, Susan Joyce Baker, Melissa Myers- Jones, Donald W., Tim and Amanda Myers, Shannon Patterson-Laymon and Shane Patterson; sisters, Dorothy Lain of Columbus and Doris Rice of Georgetown; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Ann Spahr, and brothers, Jack, Merrill, Otto, Donald and Homer Chandler.
