Dies Suddenly

August J. (Gus) Spahr, 56, of Seymour, a former Franklin resident, died suddenly Thursday at Vassar, Mich.

The body has been taken to the Voss Funeral Home in Seymour where funeral rites will be held on Sunday, at 1:30 p.m.

The body will then be brought to the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin, where friends may call after 4 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be held at the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home on Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery.

Native of Indianapolis

Mr. Spahr was born on Dec. 14, 1908, in Indianapolis, the son of Homer and Eva Kerns Spahr.

On August 11, 1927, he and the former Catherine Chandler were married in Franklin. Three children were born to the union, Christopher L. Spahr of Rockford, Ill., Francis Eugene Spahr of Whiteland, and Miss Gloria Dianne Spahr of Seymour.

James Spahr is his only brother, and lives in Hollywood, Fla. Also sur­viving are six grandchildren.

Mr. Spahr was a truck driver for the Morgan Packing Company of Austin. The family moved to Seymour from Franklin in 1941. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist church of Seymour.

Gus Spahr dies;
former Franklin man

August J. (Gus) Spahr, 56 years old, died suddenly in Vassar, Michigan. He was a former Franklin resident but had been living in Seymour.

He was a truck driver for the Morgan Packing Company of Austin. Mr. Spahr was a native of Indian­apolis.

He married Catherine Chandler in Franklin in 1927. In 1941 they moved to Seymour where they were members of the Trinity Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Christopher L. Spahr of Rockford, Ill., Francis Eugene Spahr of Whiteland and Miss Gloria Diane Spahr of Seymour; a brother, James Spahr of Hollywood, Fla. and six grand­children.

The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foss Funeral Home at Seymour. The body will be brought to Franklin and friends may call at the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday.

A funeral will be held at the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home on Monday at 2 p.m. and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
