EDINBURGH — Ruth Southers, 63, a former Edinburgh resident, died Monday night at Floyd County Hospital at New Albany.
A former Edinburgh resident, she had been living at Green Valley Convalescent Center at New Albany.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eskew Funeral Home here, where persons may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery
Mrs. Southers was born at Columbia, Ky., March 17, 1918, the daughter of Syrenous and Laura Childers Burton.
She was a member of the Mormon Church.
Survivors include six children, Carlos Rooks of Edinburgh, Janet Robinson of Franklin route 5, Stanley Earls and Harold Ziegler of Trafalgar, Kay Pierce of Georgetown and Gail Mott of Kansas; a brother, Wallace Burton of Edinburgh; two sisters, Doloris Russell of Edinburgh and Arvie Mann of Grantham, Pa., 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
