Death of W. D. Smyser.
William D. Smyser, an honest and well respected citizen, died at his home near Lick Springs, Friday, Nov 30 at 3 o’clock.
He was born in Shelby County, Kentucky, Feb. 11th, 1834, and removed to Johnson County, Ind., with his parents at the age of 5 years. He was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Anderson, May 20, 1852. He was the father of 8 children, 6 of whom are left to mourn their loss.
In his youth he was immersed in the Baptist faith and afterward became a member of the Christian church at Mt. Carmel, and his lingering illness was borne with Christian patience. He was known as a kind father, a good husband and an honored citizen. His kind and unselfish disposition won the good will of all who knew him. We may hope that he has gone to the eternal abode where there is no sickness and sorrow.
George Hibbs.
