Resolutions.

Whereas, an all-wise God in His providential dispensation has seen fit to remove from our midst, by the hands of death, our worthy brother, J. B. Smyser, who died July 11, 1896, therefore,

Resolved, That in the death of J. B. Smyser, Trafalgar lodge has lost a worthy and faithful member, and his associates a kin and worthy friend.

Resolved, That while we deeply lament the death of our brother, we bow in humble submission to the will of God, and exclaim, “the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Resolved, That the mother and sisters of the deceased have our heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement, and while we mingle our tears of sorrow with theirs, the loss of our brother will ever be remembered with deepest regret.

Resolved, That the secretary forward a copy of these resolutions with the seal of the lodge to the family and they be spread on the minutes of the lodge.

Think not of the tearful parting,
For beyond death’s turbid tide
We shall some day meet our brother,
Heaven is on the other side.
