SAMARIA.
An old pioneer mother gone—Mrs. Mary Smith, a very old and honored lady who lived near Chappel church, died Thanksgiving morning and was buried at Beech Grove cemetery, Dec. 2, 1899. Rev Hammons, pastor of Samaria Christian preached an able and appropriate discourse.

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Health Officer’s Record Number 5, page 233 records that Mary Smith died from tuberculosis of one year’s duration at 12:00 on 30 Nov 1899 in Union Township, Johnson County, Indiana, aged sixty-five-years, nine-months, 16-days-old. She was female, white and a widow. Her father’s name was Isaac Disbro and her mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Barrett. Their birthplaces were unknown. Mary was buried in Beech Grove Cemetery on 2 Dec 1899, undertaker W. S. Adams of Morgantown, Indiana.
