Howard Sloan, who has long been in poor health from asthma and complications of lung trouble, died Saturday evening at 6 o’clock at the home of his mother on north Main street. Deceased was a brother of James Sloan and was forty-six years of age. He was never married. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o’clock from the residence, conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall.

He was male, white, single and a printer. His father’s name was Harvey Sloan, his mother’s maiden name was America W. Shackleford, both born in Kentucky. He was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery on 12 Mar 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
