OBITUARY.

Susan Boler Slack was born in Brown county, Ohio, May 17th, 1807. She was married to John Slack, June 3, 1830. They came to Johnson county, Indiana, in November, 1835, and settled on a part of section twenty-five in Hensley township, where they lived continuously until the day of her death, December 22, 1890, at the age of eighty-three years, seven months and five days.

Aunt Susan, as she was generally called, was familiar with many of the hardships incident to pioneer life, frequently assisting her husband in clearing away the forest and continually laboring for the comfort of her family and for more than sixty years she walked by the side of her husband a kind and dutiful wife, a patient and loving mother, and a good neighbor. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom are living and were present when she passed away. The funeral took place at the Lick Spring church on Tuesday, the 23rd, and was largely attended by relatives and friends.
