OBITUARY.

Dr. Reson [sic] Wesley, son of Reson [sic] and Margaret Slack, was born in Hensley township, Johnson county, Ind., April 4, 1840 and died at Trafalgar, Ind., Feb. 19, 1895, aged fifty-four years, ten months and fifteen days. He was married to Nancy Elizabeth Watson, Sept. 5, 1861. To them were born three boys and one girl, one boy preceded the father in death, March 29, 1872, age, nine months. In August of 1872 Mr. Slack joined the Lick Spring Baptist church of which he was a member at death. He was made an “Entered Apprentice” in Masonry, August 2, 1869, afterward received degree of Fellow Craft, was raised to degree of “Master Mason,” was appointed “Senior Warden” by the Grand Lodge of Ind., was elected “Worshipful Master” of Trafalgar Lodge, Dec. 15, 1877. On Friday before his death, he was at work making a bookcase, which was about half finished. That night he was taken with double pneumonia, and on Tuesday, life was ended. Thus a man, who loved his wife and children and cared for them tenderly, and who was a great lover of books, passed from this life, leaving a wife, three children, six grand-children and two sisters, to mourn their loss. On Thursday, after a short prayer and song service at the home, the remains were taken to the church, and there a short service as held in the presence of quite a number of his friends and neighbors, after which the body was buried in the cemetery close by.
