John Slack, one of the pioneer democrats of Johnson county and for many years a resident of Hensley township, died on Saturday at the home, in Trafalgar, of his son, C. J. Slack. The deceased was eighty-six years of age and had been in feeble health for several years. The funeral occurred on Monday afternoon and the remains were interred at Lick Springs Cemetery. He was one of the few citizens of our county that resided upon the land he purchased from the government. By his death our county loses a most worthy citizen.
