Miss Alma Slack died in a rather mysterious manner at the residence of C. B. Tarlton in southeast Franklin on Monday morning. Coroner Jones heard testimony and found death had resulted from septicaema [sic] caused by a criminal operation performed by herself. The next grand jury should investigate the case.
