SWEET WATER.

––––

Uncle James Short, south of Nineveh, died Sunday and was buried at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. He had only been sick about a week.

IN MEMORIUM.

Death again enters a happy home and breaks asunder the ties of love and cheer that made it a perfect gathering, leaving sorrow and sadness in its wake. Robbed a wife of a devoted husband, children of an affectionate father, relatives and friends of one whom it is a pleasure to know and to associate with. After about a week’s illness the life of Uncle James Short quietly passed away from the bed of suffering upon which his mortal body had lain, shortly after 12 o’clock, Sunday, April 4th.

In this hour of sorrow none but those who have passed through a similar experience can know and the sympathy of the community goes out in heartfelt tenderness to the bereaved ones.

James Short was born in Mercer County, Ky., July 15, 1818. He was a good neighbor and had a host of friends who deplore his loss with deep feelings of regret, softened by the confident hope that his spirit is with those who, having fought the good fight here, are enjoying the happiness of a better world.
