George Sherman died suddenly at 6:45 o’clock Monday evening. He had been down town Sunday morning in his usual health, returning to his home on Johnson Avenue about 10 o’clock. He took a chill in the afternoon and went to bed. During the night he was stricken with paralysis and became unconscious, in which condition he remained until death. Deceased was born in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 21, 1836. He had been a resident of Franklin many years and was well known. He served three years in Co. L. 9th Reg Ky. cavalry and re-enlisted at the end of that service, continuing until the close of the rebellion. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. T. C. Cocks.
