SARA L. SELLERS
Mrs. Sara Louise Sellers, age 88, died on Friday, August 25, 2006 at Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a real estate title clerk and a legal secretary for 20 years in several Franklin law firms, having spent 14 years working for attorney Roy L. Dickinson. Born in Greenwood, Indiana on February 10, 1918 to Fred S. Woodcock and Florence Sheek Woodcock, she was a graduate of Franklin High School and Indiana Business College. On July 16, 1936, she married John V. Sellers, and they were privileged to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on July 16, 2006. They were the parents of two sons, Thomas E. Sellers and Robert H. Sellers. She served for several years as secretary in the state office of the Indiana DeMolay Foundation after the Masonic Order moved its headquarters to Franklin from Indianapolis in 1977. Mrs. Sellers was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Chapter BS of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, John, she is also survived by her son, Robert H. Sellers, and his wife, Lois, of Munster, Indiana; her daughter-in-law, Karen Wilke Sellers, of Edmonds, Washington; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews; and by her sister, Jeanne S. McDonald on Indio, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Thomas E. Sellers; and by two brothers, Robert L. Woodcock and Fred. A. Woodcock.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. Wright Memorial Chapel at the Franklin United Methodist Community with the Rev. Glen Beck officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Wright Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Flinn and Maquire Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given in Mrs. Sellers' name to Chapter BS of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, for the purpose of furthering the education of local women, or to your favorite charity.
