SUDDEN DEATH
Nelson Sellers Stricken
with Paralysis of the Heart
   Sunday morning a little before
six o’clock, Mrs. Nelson Sellers on
awakening, noticed that her husband
was breathing heavily and unnatural-
ly. She immediately went across the
street from the residence to the
home of Edward Barnhizer to tele-
phone for Dr. H. J. Hall. On her
return she found that Mr. Sellers
had expired. The news of his sudden
death came as a surprise and shock
to the community. Mr. Sellers had
been on the street the evening be-
fore and aside from a cold, seemed
to be, on retiring that night,
about in his usual health. His
death was due to paralysis of the
heart. From members of the family
it is learned that he previously
had had attacks of paralysis and
had been warned by his physician
that death might come suddenly.
Mr. Sellers had long been a
resident of Johnson county. He
was born July 8, 1825, in Scott
county, this state coming when
but three years old with his par-
ents who settled near Nineveh. In
1867 he purchased what is known as
the Sellers farm in the Union neigh-
borhood, where he lived until 1880,
when he moved to Franklin.
Deceased was a devout member of
the Christian church. He was a man of
sterling integrity and highly esteemed
for his worth as a citizen, neighbor
and friend. He and Mrs. Sellers, who
survives him, were the parents of
eleven children, all of whom are living.
On Friday, December 28, Mr. and Mrs.
Sellers celebrated their 52d wedding
anniversary. All the sons and daughters,
with the grandchildren, were present.
The death of Mr. Sellers is the first
to occur in the family circle.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday
afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the
[illegible] by Rev. R. Hudson.
