George L. Scott

George L. Scott, 69, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at his residence in New
Whiteland.

He was born June 22, 1932, in Daviess County. His parents were Melvin and Hazel
Grace (Clements) Scott. He married Margaret (Wathen) Scott. She survives. Other
survivors include four daughters, Catherine Scott of Bremerton, Wash., Tracey
Jensen of Macon, Ga., Rebecca Haaff of Atlanta, Ga., and Rosalie Thomas of
Indianapolis; two sons, David Scott and Douglas Scott, both of Indianapolis;
three sisters, Wilma Jean Gorjanc of Speedway, Mary Jane DeLong of Ohio and Anna
Marie Grannon of Evansville; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in architectural
engineering.

He was a dispatcher for Haag Trucking for 34 years, retiring in 1994.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and a former member
of Lucky Square Square Dance Club in Greenwood. He loved fishing, golf,
woodworking, camping and feeding birds in his yard.

A service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home in
Whiteland. Monsignor Harold Knueven will conduct a Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at
Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Entombment will
be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
