Pearl M. Royse
A seven year illness proved fatal to Mrs. Pearl M. Royse, widow of the late Elmer Royse, Tuesday afternoon at 12:45 o’clock in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital for six weeks.
Funeral services have been set for 2 o’clock Friday afternoon and wil be in the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Bozell, of Edinburg, will be in charge of the rites, with burial taking place in Rest Haven Cemetery at Edinburg.
Friends may call at the funeral home at any time after 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon and until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.
Mrs. Royse was born Jan. 25, 1888, in Bartholomew County and was the daughter of the late Jesse T. and Margaret Neville Coy. She was educated in the Bartholomew county schools.
At Columbus on Aug. 29, 1906, she became the bride of Mr. Royse and a daughter was born to them.
The major portion of Mrs. Royse’s life was spent in Bartholomew County and 17 years ago she moved to Franklin and resided at 715 North Forsyth Street.
Although Mrs. Royse was a member of the New Bethel Christian Church in the Atterbury area, she attended the Memorial Church in Franklin as long as her health permitted.
She was an avid gardener and lover of flowers.
The daughter, Mrs. Grafton (Mildred) Webster, of Franklin, nieces and nephews, are the survivors.
On June 9, 1947, Mr. Royse died, and two sisters and a brother also preceded her in death.
