Death of Mrs. Henry Rivers.

Hannah M. Rivers, wife of Henry Rivers, died yesterday afternoon at two o’clock at her home one-half mile north of Union Village. For about one year she had been afflicted with Bright’s disease but was able to go around and attend to her household duties most of the time. On Monday she appeared to be in her usual health but took a sudden turn for the worse Tuesday and rapidly sank. In December she would have completed her 47th year. She leaves a husband and five children. Her death is the third that has occurred in the family in the past two years. Her maiden name was Harris, she being a sister of Samuel Harris, postmaster in this city and Jesse T. Harris, democratic candidate for county treasurer. Three sisters also survive, viz., Mrs. Jonathan Young, Mrs. Lewis T. Deer and Mrs. S. W. Clark, all residents of Union township. The family is one of the oldest in Union township all having been born near Union Village and resided ever since either in that neighborhood or in other parts of Johnson county. The deceased had been a member of the Christian church from childhood. The funeral services occur this afternoon at the house conducted by Rev. John C. Miller. Burial in the Harris graveyard.
