EDINBURGH — E. Lucille Richards, 84, of Edinburgh died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was a former employee of Edinburgh schools and had worked in food service at East Side Elementary School.
She was a 1933 graduate of Edinburgh High School, a 50-year member of Edinburgh First Christian Church and Franklin Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Christian Women’s Fellowship.
Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Edinburgh First Christian Church with the Rev. Steve DeFields-Gambrel officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Richards was born in Edinburgh May 12, 1915, the daughter of Harvey and Betty Mitchell Hemphill. She married Ernest P. Richards Feb. 16, 1935. He died Jan. 1, 1974.
Surviving are sons, Wayne Richards of Franklin and Ron Richards of Taylorsville; daughters, Carol Anne Shofner of French Lick and Susan Price of Edinburgh; a sister, Greta McIntosh of Rockville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
