Mrs. Rachel Riley [sic], mother of Mrs. R. A. [Sarepta E.] Alexander, of this city, died last Friday afternoon at 1:40 o’clock. She had been in ill health for several years and her death was not unexpected. The funeral took place from the residence of R. A. Alexander on Monday morning at 9:30 o’clock, the services being conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall

Johnson County, Indiana.; Marriage Records 1851–1875 Valume 2, D. A. R., transcribed by Edna Thompson Bice, records on pageĀ 1 that Robert A. Alexander married Sarepta E. Riely [sic] on 20 Sep 1859.
The 1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana records sixty-six-year-old, Kentucky-born Rachel Reily as living in the household of her son-in-law, forty-six-year-old, Indiana-born Robert A. Alexander, and her daughter, forty-six-year-old, Indiana-born Sarepta E. Alexander.
The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 171, referencing Book H-16, page 21, records that Rachel Riley [sic], a seventy-year-old white female, died 25 July 1890 in Franklin.
