Mrs. Jane E. Ragsdale died at her home on East Madison Street on Saturday morning at 2 o’clock, after a lingering illness of general debility. She had been a resident of this city for a number of years and had a large circle of friends. She was the widow of Rev. A. M. Ragsdale of the Baptist church, who died some twenty years ago. She was the mother of seven children, of whom four, Jno. W., O. G., Edward W. and Sallie M., survive. The funeral took place from her late residence on Sunday morning and was largely attended, the services being conducted by Rev. P. O. Duncan.
