OBITUARY.
Camma R. Ragsdale was born in Shelby county, Ky., in 1820, and died Feb. 17, 1897, age 77 years, 1 month and 11 days. He moved to Johnson county, Ind. with his parents in 1835. He was united in marriage to Sarah Sturgeon in 1841. To this union was born four children, two of whom died in infancy. Two still survive to mourn their loss.
He was united in second marriage to Matilda Crewshaw, of Shelby county, Ky. To this union was born four children, two of whom have gone to that better land.
He served this county as commissioner one term. He filled the office with credit to himself and the county. He also served as administrator of several estates. He was a man of strong intellect, and honest in his dealings. When asked for advice he was slow to give it, but when given was good. He was respected by all who knew him and in his death we lose a worthy citizen. He leaves a son and three daughters to mourn the loss of a loving, pure hearted father. Let us hope that they may at last be united in heaven, where sorrow never comes.
His remains were laid to rest in the First Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Feb. 9th, 1897.
J. D. R.
