George Quinn who survived his wife [Malvina Quinn] only a few days was buried at Edinburg cemetery on the 17th. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. S. Slaughter of Indianapolis.
Notes: The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 164, referencing Book H-25, page 25, records that George Quinn, a forty-year-old colored male, died 19 Feb 1892. The same page records his wife, Malvina Quinn, a thirty-eight-year-old colored female, who died 10 Feb 1892 in Edinburg.
The 1880 US Federal Census for Edinburg, Johnson County, Indiana records twenty-six-year-old, Kentucky-born George Quinn, his twenty-two-year-old, Kentucky-born wife Melvina [sic] Quinn, and their children, seven-year-old, Kentucky-born John, five-year-old, Kentucky-born William, three-year-old, Kentucky-born Walter and four-month-old, Indiana-born unnamed male infant. All are recorded as black.
