ALEXANDER PRUITT
Alexander Pruitt, who lived just east of Edinburg, and well known throughout the county, died on last Friday. He had been in poor health for some time, yet his friends were greatly surprised when his death was announced. Mr. Pruitt was born in 1835 in the locality where he died. He was the father of twelve children, seven of whom are now living. He was a man highly respected by a large circle of friends. By industry and frugality he had amassed considerable wealth. The funeral was preached Sunday afternoon by Elder Small, pastor of the Christian church, of Edinburg, of which church Mr. Pruitt had been a member for about a year.
