OBITUARY.

Carmel Pritchard departed this life Feb. 18th, 1896, after an illness of two weeks duration. He was the third son born to Edgar and Julia Pritchard. He was born near Amity, Johnson County, Indiana, June 16th, 1880, and at his death was fifteen years, six months and two days of age. He was patient throughout his last illness and seemed to be hopeful of ultimate recovery.

He was a kind, dutiful and affectionate son, ever willing and ready to lighten the cares of his parents. He was a loving friend and cheerful companion. In school he was obedient and studious, always winning the love of his teacher and schoolmates by his truthfulness and kindly disposition. Everyone who knew him seemed to be drawn to him, and it might truthfully be said of him, “None knew him but to love him.”

Although he was not a member of any church and had never publicly professed Christianity, from his many virtues and his benign influence on others we are constrained to believe that he was and is a member of the Great Church, the names of whose members are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and that all is well with him in the Summer Land of Bliss.

He leaves a loving mother and father, three brothers and a large circle of friends to mourn his departure. May the dear Lord deal gently with these bereaved parents and brothers.

Thou art gone from us
To the land of rest,
Though we weep for thee
Yet God’s will is best.
