OBITUARY.
Once more God’s messenger, death, has come into our midst separating the soul from the body of Louisa [sic] M. Ruffin Price, daughter of Lunsford and Anna Ruffin. She was born March 25, 1839, on a North Carolina plantation.
Darling Lucy, with her sweet smiles and gentle disposition, was greatly loved by parents and friends. In her youthful bloom she came to this state with her parents, where she soon gained the friendship of all. After she gave herself to Christ, in 1876, she ever strove to live a pure, noble Christian life, keeping Christ before her as an ideal. She ever put Christ first in her heart, the love of humanity next, and self out of sight.
In 1858, she was joined in wedlock to John Price, son of Henry and Mary Price. To this union were born ten children, six girls and four boys, eight of which survive her, who were the pride and joy of her life. The others preceded her to that happy home in paradise, where there is room for all those who love and obey Him.
Funeral services took place Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Cunningham. The remains were interred in First Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
