Death of John Pottenger.
John Pottenger living near Bengal, died Wednesday night. He had been in poor health for some time suffering from abdominal dropsy with a probable growth as the origin of it. On Thursday, March 14, and again on Tuesday of this week he was able to come to Franklin and consult his physician, Dr. P. W. Payne. He had spells of suffocation and the immediate cause of his death was due to one of these attacks.
Deceased was about 45 years of age and high esteemed as a citizen. He leaves a wife and one daughter.

Dr. P. W. Payne went to the late residence of John Pottenger, and held a post mortem examination last Saturday. The result of the examination showed a diseased condition of the blood vessels of the brain which had caused death.
