Uncle David S. Pierce was born in Kentucky, June 4, 1814, died Sept. 1, 1893, aged 79 years, two months and 28 days. Was married to Miss Elizabeth Warren, Nov. 17, 1832. To this union seven children were born, three living. Uncle Dave was a Christian for over 30 years. He died in the faith; was a kind, true man, beloved by all who knew him. Good neighbor, honest, true as steel to his convictions and his friends; ever alert for the comfort and happiness of others. He was a member of the Christian church, and Rev. Oviatt last Sabbath over his remains preached a sensible sermon for the occasion. The remains of our old friend and neighbor were laid to rest last Sabbath at high noon to await the resurrection morn. We hope to meet in the sweet bye and bye.
