“Crockett” Pierce died at his home on Monroe Street last Monday morning at 7 o’clock after a protracted illness of Bright’s disease. The funeral services were held at the house, Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, and conducted by Rev. T. M. Wiles. Mr. Pierce was born in Pleasant Township, this county, where he resided on a farm until 1875, when he removed to this city, and has since been engaged in the saloon business.
