James Patterson of Needham township, aged 79 years, died last Friday morning of heart failure. He had been in declining health for several months and the news of his demise was not wholly unexpected. He was a highly respected citizen, a member of the Presbyterian church and a man through life of exemplary habits. The funeral occurred Saturday, the remains were interred at the Hurricane Baptist cemetery. The deceased had been a resident of Johnson county for forty-four years having come here from Clark county in 1848.
