Ella Parsley Dies
Monday Morning
Mrs. Ella Parsley, widow of the late Walter Parsley, died at her home, 420 Herriott Street, Monday morning at 1:30 o’clock.
Funeral services have been arranged for 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home, with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home at any time after 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon and until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.
Mrs. Parsley was born Sept. 19, 1885, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Goetz Coffman, and was educated in the Nineveh schools.
When she was a small child, the family moved to Johnson County and the remainder of her life was spent here. In 1955, she moved from her farm home to Franklin and made her home with a daughter.
She became the bride of Mr. Parsley on Jan. 12, 1910, and four children were born to them. Mr. Parsley died on July 25, 1948. One son died in infancy and another son, Norman Parsley, died on April 8, 1960.
Mrs. Parsley was a member of the Grace Methodist Church.
Two daughters, Mrs. Burrell (Helen) Chasteen, of Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Lee Hamilton, of Franklin; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren are the survivors.
