Mrs. Mattie Paris, died Saturday evening at the home of her father, Ben Thompson, and was buried Sunday at First Mt. Pleasant.

SAMARIA.
Mrs. Mattie Paris died Saturday evening at 4 o’clock and was buried Sunday at Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Paris was born and lived in our midst all her life. She was a good neighbor, a kind and affectionate wife and a loving mother. She was followed to her last resting place by a large crowd of relatives and friends. A good Christian woman is gone She was a member of Chapple Christian church.

Parris [sic] died at about 4:20 o’clock p. m. on 7 Jul 1900 at her residence in Hensley Township, Johnson County from cancer of twelve months’ duration, aged thirty-nine years, three months and twenty-three days. She was female, white, married and no occupation recorded, born in Johnson County, Indiana. Her father’s name was Benjamin Thompson and her mother’s maiden name Matilda Lyman, both born in Indiana. The informant was Benjamin Thompson. Martha was buried in Mount Pleasant, Indiana on 10 Jul 1900, Forsyth & Richardson, undertaker.
