Asa, the ten-year-old son of Prof. D. A. Owen, died last Tuesday night at 10 o’clock of diphtheria. He had been ill but a few days. The funeral services took place from the residence Wed­nesday afternoon at 2 o’clock and were conducted by Rev. E. S. Gardiner of the Baptist church. Asa was an unusually bright boy, an only child, and was liked by all. Prof. and Mrs. Owen have the fullest sympathy of the entire com­munity in their great loss.
