Charles Ohlrogge, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ohlrogge, died Friday morning at 9 o’clock. He was fifteen years old and a bright promising boy. Last fall while riding a bicycle, he was thrown from his wheel on West Court Street by an unmanageable horse. From injuries received, a tumor developed. For six weeks past he had been ill but the end was not so soon expected. He was taken with a violent hemorrhage Friday morning and expired in a few minutes. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the residence conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Franklin, Franklin Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, Health Officer’s Record Number 19, page 169 records that Charles Ohlrogge died at about 9 o’clock a. m. on 25 May 1900 at his residence, on Walnut Street, Franklin from a hemorrhage caused by tuberculosis, aged thirteen years, seven months and twenty-five days. He was male, white, single with no occupation, birthplace Indianapolis. His father’s name was John H. Ohlrogge, born in Germany, and his mother’s maiden name Margaret Sess [sic Suess], born in New York. The informant was John H. Ohlrogge. Charles was buried in Franklin, Indiana on 27 May 1900, Dudley Peek, undertaker.
