Death of Mrs. Mullikin.

Mrs. Sarah B. Mullikin who was injured last week by falling as men­tioned in the Democrat, died yes­terday morning [sic] at six o’clock, the im­mediate cause being the injuries she received from the fall.

She was in her ninetieth year and had been a resident of this county nearly sixty-five years. Her husband, James Mullikin, died in 1846, his widow having survived nearly fifty years. Both were natives of Kentucky. Mrs. Mul­likin for many years had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Hunt at whose house she died. The funeral will take place this afternoon at Union church at two o’clock conducted by Dr. W. T. Stott. Deceased was a member of the Baptist church and a local estimable lady.

The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Mullikin, last Friday, at Union church, was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. The procession which followed the remains was over one-half mile long. Burial in the family grave yard. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral, were the de­ceased’s son, Geo. C. Mullikin and wife accompanied by their two sons, Joseph and Charles Mullikin, all of Bondville, Ill.; also James Mullikin, of Arcola, Ill.; Mrs. Sarah Moore, of Hinesboro, Ill.; and Elizabeth Kerr and daughter of Monroe county, this State.

Note: Apparently the reporter took articles intended for the April 12th issue and put them in the April 19th morning paper (Volume XXXV Number 40) without changing the date references from those of the earlier week. The April 19th evening paper (Volume XXXV Number 41) has the correct date references.
