Mrs. Elizabeth Montgomery, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hopper, on Friday morning of last week, aged eighty-four years. Funeral took place Saturday morning from the residence.

Notes: The 1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana records seventy-one-year-old, Kentucky-born Elizabeth Montgomery and her eighty-one-year-old, Virginia-born husband Zachariah Montgomery as living in the household of their son-in-law, forty-one-year-old, Kentucky-born Hiram Hopper, and daughter, 40-year-old, Indiana-born Mary (Montgomery) Hopper.
The Indiana State Library Genealogy Database; Marriages through 1850 records that Zachariah Montgomery married Elizabeth Henderson on 14 Feb 1837 in Owen County.
The 1850 US Federal Census for Taylor, Owen County, Indiana records fifty-one-year-old Virginia-born Z. Montgomery, his forty-four-year-old, Kentucky-born wife E. Montgomery, their daughter, ten-year-old Indiana-born M. A. Montgomery and their Indiana-born sons, eight-year-old John and six-year-old A. J. Montgomery.
The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 131, referencing Book H-16, page 27, records that Elizbeth [sic] Montgomery, an eighty-four-year-old white female died 17 Dec 1891 in Franklin.
