Mrs. Silas Monroe died Sunday at Hamblin [sic Hamilton], Ohio, of consumption. The remains were brought here Tuesday evening and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Wm. Carnine [Sallie Jones Carnine], where funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Deceased was 37 years old, and a sister of W. J. Jones of this city.
Note: The Johnson County Indiana WPA Marriage Index, 1882–1920, referencing Book 6, page 96, records that Silas F. Monroe married Nancy E. Jones on 23 Aug 1885.
