OBITUARY.
Dessie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark McMullen, of Trafalgar, died Sunday morning of typhoid fever. She became ill while at Greenwood and was moved to her parents’ home in Trafalgar on September 23d, after which time until she died, she continually grew worse.
Everything possible, both in medical services and in most watchful, tender nursing was done for her, but to no avail. Her death is greatly mourned. She was a second year pupil in high school and is spoken of by her teacher as an earnest, thorough student. She was a member of the Christian church and also of Christian Endeavor, in both of which organizations she was always not only ready but willing to do whatever service she found to be done.
It seems as though a bright light had suddenly ceased to shine but we know that the star of her life has been taken from this world of sorrow and placed where it will shine forever, over on the sunny highlands of the other shore.
The funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon at 10 o’clock in the Christian church. Rev. Ashley preached the funeral, after which the remains were taken to Mt. Pleasant cemetery and interred.
The entire community extends sympathy to the sorrowing family.
