D. McDonald, of Edinburg, died at his home in that place on last Friday night. Mr. McDonald was one of the enterprising business men of Edinburg, having been engaged in the undertaking business in that city for a number of years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. order and a large number of the Odd Fellows of this city attended the fun­eral, which took place on Sunday.

The History of Johnson County by D. D. Banta, published in 1888, has a biography of D. McDonald, which doesn’t give his first name but does give his birthdate, 7 Oct 1833, and the names of his wives and children. His second marriage was to Jennie Battin; they had one child, Edwin W. McDonald.
Indiana Marriages, 1780–1992, database, records that when Edwin Wesliq [sic] McDonald married Inez Maude Bells on 10 Jul 1910 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, he stated that his parents were Duncan McDonald and Jennie Battin. (Reference p.133; FHL microfilm 413543.)
