Mrs. D. J. McColgin, one of Edinburg’s most highly respected ladies, died at her home at that place Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon.

The 1870 US Federal Census for Blue River Township, Johnson County, Indiana (post office Edinburg) records fifty-five-year-old, Virginia-born carpenter F. Asbury McColgin, and his thirty-nine-year-old, Ohio-born milliner wife, Dorilda [sic] J. McColgin.
Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Edinburg, Blue River Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 143 records that Durilda J. McColgin died at about 3 o’clock p. m. on 31 Jul 1900 in Edinburg, Indiana from chronic indigestion of thirty years’ duration, aged sixty-nine years, five months and twenty-six days. She was female, white, widowed and a milliner, born in Johnson County, Ohio. Her father’s name was Elijah Sollenberg, born in Virginia and her mother’s maiden name Katherine McFadden, birthplace unknown. The informant was Harry McColgin. Durilda was buried in Edinburg, Indiana on 2 Aug 1900, J. M. Breeding, undertaker.
