Phoebe Glass was born in Trimble County, Ky., Dec. 4, 1823 and departed this life Dec. 5, 1898, age 75 years and two days. In 1855 she was married to Henry McClain, now deceased. To this union were born four children, who sur­vive. The deceased was a member of the Glade M. E. church, at which place the funeral was preached Wednesday by Rev. T. K. Willis. The remains were interred in the Dobbins cemetery. She leaves many friends and relatives to mourn their loss.

Note: The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 139, referencing Book H-18, page 8, records that Pheoba [sic] McClain, a seventy-nine-year-old white female, died 5 Dec 1898 in Indiana.
