A GOOD WOMAN
––––––
Stricken Down at Her Home by
Heart Failure
The many friends of Mrs. Anna McCaslin were shocked Wednesday evening when they learned that she had been suddenly called from them at her home about two miles due south of Franklin through an attack of heart disease from which she had suffered recently.
Mrs. McCaslin had suffered during the past few months from heart weakness. Tuesday night she was overcome for a time but during Wednesday she was about her usual domestic duties. Between three and four o’clock she suffered from illness of the stomach and lay down and continued to grow worse and died while her physician was on his way to her relief.
Mrs. Anna McCaslin was a daughter of Henry and Louisa Myers List, and was born in Marion county, Indiana May 27th, 1850. She would have been sixty-two years of age next Monday. She was married to Gilbert McCaslin, October 9th, 1872. He died April 25th 1884. To them were born one daughter, Margaret who had continued to live with her mother. A brother, Francis M. List of Ohio, is also living, together with other relatives in this vicinity.
Mrs. McCaslin had for many years been a member of the Franklin Presbyterian church. She was a sincere, earnest Christian woman and when health and weather permitted rarely missed the morning services. Her death is a severe shock to the faithful daughter, who has been her mother’s constant companion and help, as well as a shock to the many friends of the family in the county.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock from the house, Rev. B. W. Tyler conducting the services. Burial at Greenlawn.
