OBITUARY.
Nancy Armsworthy was born in Davy county, N.C., March 1, 1812; died after a brief illness at the home of her son, T. McBride, Saturday afternoon, April 24, age 85 years, one month and 23 days. She married Leonard McBride, Jan. 29, 1833. The husband died Dec. 1, 1853. She was the mother of six children, three of whom died years ago, and three of whom survive to mourn the loss of a true and affectionate mother.
In November, 1867, Mrs. McBride came to Indiana and for the past 15 years has made her home with her only son. In early life in her native state she united with the church, but since coming to Indiana she had never united with any church, but her friends never had cause to doubt that she belonged to the Lord. Her daily life, though quiet and unassuming, was such as becomes a child. She was loved and honored by a host of relatives and friends and will be sadly missed for those who knew her best, loved her most. One son, T. McBride, and two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Gheen, of Nebo, Ill., and Mrs. Samuel Kelly, of Sharpsville, Ind., nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren together with other relatives mourn their loss.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. P. O. Duncan, were held at Second Mt. Pleasant, Monday, after which her body was borne by six grandsons and laid to rest to await the resurrection morn.
Jana Owens.
