Fata May Martines, 76, died Sept. 7 in Downey, Calif. She was a resident of Downey and a former resident of Edinburgh.
She was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Edinburgh. Her parents were Rowland G. Fordyce and Arie (Coy) Fordyce. She married Lawrence Martines in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1986. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Moline of Downey and Robert Martines of Oxnard, Calif.; a daughter, Sharron McMorrow of Kaneohe, Hawaii; two nephews, Charles Allen Straughn of Edinburgh and David Straughn of Indianapolis; a niece, Penny Staughn Tegarden of Edinburgh; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Permelia Straughn.
She was a violinist with the Columbus Symphony for 25 years. She then moved to Downey, where she was a credit manager until her retirement in 1978.
She was a lifelong member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be conducted during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at Edinburgh United Methodist Church, with a reception for family and friends following in the fellowship hall. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH — Fata May Fordyce Martines, 75, of Downey, Calif., died Monday, Sept. 7, 1992, at Downey.
An Edinburgh native, she was a lifelong member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church and was a violinist with the Columbus Symphony 25 years before moving to California in 1953. She was a credit manager in Downey until her retirement in 1978.
A Memorial service will be conducted during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at Edinburgh United Methodist Church, with a reception in the church fellowship hall afterwards.
Local arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martines was born Sept. 21, 1916, the daughter of Rowland G. and Arie Coy Fordyce. She married Lawrence Martines in 1953. He died in 1986.

Word has been received that Fata May Fordyce Martines died Sept. 7, 1992 in Downey, California. She was 75 years old. She was married to Lawrence Martines who preceded her in death in 1953. Mrs. Martines was the daughter of Rowland G. Fordyce and Arie Coy. Surviving relatives include Ronald Moline, Downey, Cal.; Robert Martines, Oxnard, Cal.; Sharron McMorrow, Kaneohe, Haw.; nephews Charles Allen Straugh, Edinburgh; and David Straughn, Indianapolis; niece Penny Straughn Tegarden, Edinburgh. She had 5 grand- children and 4 great-grand- children. Mrs. Martines was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She was violinist for the Columbus Symphony for 25 years. There will be a Memorial Service held at the Edinburgh Methodist Church this Sunday (Oct. 25) during the Worship Service beginning at 10:30 a.m. There will be a re- ception immediately follow- ing for friends and family in the Fellowship Hall. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home.
