Lifelong Trafalgar resident Florence Lillian McCaslin, 97, died this morning at Franklin Healthcare Center, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Born May 11, 1890, in Trafalgar, she was the daughter of James Riley and Mary Louise (Woods) Bridges. She graduated from Trafalgar High School in 1909.
She married Cecil Alexander McCaslin Dec. 11, 1911. He preceded her in death March 7, 1961.
Mrs. McCaslin was a member of the Trafalgar Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir and the quilting group. She also was a charter member and twice past matron of the Trafalgar Order of Eastern Star 423.
A funeral service and Eastern Star service, conducted by the Trafalgar O.E.S. 423 will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at First Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin Township with the Rev. Rebecca Nummally officiating.
Survivors include a son, Max McCaslin of Princes Lakes; four step-grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren, and 19 step-great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Ona Kelch, Lola Hunt and Edna Stout.
