The remains of Mrs. Cora Gribben [sic] Lakin, of Lebanon, who died at the home of her sister in Indianapolis, were brought to this city Sunday morning and taken to Shiloh church, where funeral services were held. Burial at the Smiley graveyard [sic].

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Indianapolis, Certificate and Record of Death, Health Officer’s Record Number 3, page 7 records that Cora E. Laken [sic] died at about 4 o’clock p. m. on 13 Jul 1900 in Indianapolis from acute dysentary of one week’s duration, due to consumption of eighteen months’ duration, aged forty years. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Franklin, Indiana. Her father’s name was W. P. Gribbins, born in Kentucky, and her mother’s maiden name Jane M. Hendricks, born in Johnson County. Cora was buried in Franklin [sic Burial was at New South Park Cemetery, Morgan County, Indiana] on 15 Jul 1900, H. W. Tutwiler, undertaker.
