H. Eugene ’Gene’ Kellams H. Eugene "Gene" Kellams, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. He was a former resident of Edinburgh and Nineveh. He was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Columbus. His parents were Alver W. and Ora (Dunlap) Kellams. He married Dorma Lucille (Wass) Kellams on June 12, 1936, in Columbus. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Randy L. Kellams of Edinburgh, Jeffrey L. Kellams of Indianapolis and Phillip G. Kellams of Pittsburgh, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Wayne Kellams. He was a 1931 graduate of Edinburgh High School and a 1935 graduate of Franklin College. He was owner and operator of Gene Kellams Insurance Agency in Edinburgh, and he was previously employed for several years in accounting/federal and state tax consultation. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Franklin, Kappa Delta Rho fraternity and Edinburgh Masonic Lodge 100 F&AM and was a charter member of Edinburgh Lions Club. The Rev. Cleon H. Wright will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kresge Chapel at Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the chapel. A private family graveside service will be conducted at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements are being handled by Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin. H. EUGENE KELLAMS H. Eugene Kellams, 86, Franklin, died Sept. 20. He owned and operated Gene Kellams Insurance Agency in Edinburgh for 20 years. He also was an accountant and tax consultant for several years. Mr. Kellams was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Franklin, Edinburgh Masonic Lodge and Kappa Delta Rho fraternity. He graduated from Franklin College in 1935. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edinburgh Lions Club, of which he was a charter member. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Sept. 23 in Kresge Chapel at the Indiana Masonic Home, Franklin, with calling there from 10 a.m. Burial: Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh. Survivors: wife Dorma Lucille Wass Kellams; sons Randy L., Jeffrey L., Phillip G. Kellams; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter.
