Lafayette Avenue — Georgiana Keaton, 74, of Lafayette Avenue, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday at Columbus Convalescent Center where she had been under treatment following a stroke several weeks ago.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Harold E. Armstrong at Reed and Jewell Home. Calling hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery at Edinburgh.
Born Dec. 22, 1912, in Edinburgh, Miss Keaton was the daughter of Frank and Nellie Blye McIlvain Keaton. She retired in 1979 from the Prudential Insurance Co., where she had been employed 45 years.
She was a member of First Christian Church, where she was also a long-time member of the choir. She also held membership in Zonta International, the Historical Societies of Bartholomew and Johnson counties, the National Antique Club, National Smithsonian Associates, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Historical Landmark Foundation of Indiana.
Miss Keaton graduated from Edinburgh schools and attended Columbus Business School. She donated much time to such organizations as the Columbus Visitors Center.
She is survived by several cousins.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church choir.
